Northland Plastic Surgery Welcomes Dr. Michael Schroeder to Its Team of Surgeons

About Dr. Schroeder
Dr. Schroeder is a board-eligible plastic and reconstructive surgeon with the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Mathematics from St. Olaf College, graduating summa cum laude, before completing medical school at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, also summa cum laude. He went on to complete his residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University, where he trained extensively at the James Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the largest cancer hospitals in the country, gaining significant experience in complex reconstruction, including advanced microvascular reconstruction following sarcoma resection and breast cancer surgery.

Dr. Schroeder's clinical interests span the full breadth of plastic surgery, with particular focus on:
• Cosmetic surgery of the breast and body
• Breast reconstruction following cancer
• Craniofacial trauma

He is a published author with peer-reviewed contributions on ear reconstruction, free flap breast reconstruction, postoperative pain management, and wound complications, and has also authored a book chapter on abdominal wall reconstruction.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Schroeder enjoys running, skiing, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time outdoors with his wife and their bernedoodle.
